Introduction Class

Class Curriculum: We offer a six-week Introduction Class. This class meets once per week. Basic fencing techniques are covered such as footwork, blade work, distance, and timing. Students will be introduced to the three weapons of fencing: Foil, Epee, and Sabre.

The goal of this class is to teach students enough about the basics of fencing that they are able to choose which weapon to focus on for further training. Students should expect to make a decision, with guidance from our coaching staff, on which weapon to study and to plan appropriate follow-on classes.

Cost: The cost is $100 for a six-week course meeting once per week. Payment is due on the first day of class and we accept checks or cash (sorry, no credit cards).

What to bring/wear: Bring a water bottle with you. You may want to bring a hand towel. Wear sweatpants or shorts (no jeans), a t-shirt, and athletic shoes (no boots or sandals). This class is a great workout!

Age: Our Introduction Class is appropriate for individuals 12 years and older. We offer a Kid's Class on Saturdays for children 8-11 years old. Our younger students may be moved from this class into other classes based on their progress. Please call us at 480-969-1424 for more information.

Beginner and Advanced Classes

Emphasis is on conditioning and skills. Beginner classes are available for individuals who have completed the Introduction Class or those needing a refresher class to get back into fencing. Advanced classes are appropriate for fencers who have either completed the beginner class or those who are seasoned fencers.
